Social Distancing
Heartwarming casual vignette
Social Distancing is a vignette game that plays on the concept of Social Distancing. Players need to drag and drop items within the environment to trigger events that will being the individually isolated family members together.
I worked on the game design, the music, sound effects as well as the main character designs and animations. I co-designed the UX/UI elements and co-wrote the narrative. This was a project where I challenged myself to create main/focal art assets.

PLAY ON WORDS "SOCIAL DISTANCING"
As we were Social Distancing in quarantine, the two of us thought about this double meaning on the term, where as a family that is constantly together but within their own bubbles.
As a vignette game, the focus of Social Distancing is put on simple interactions in order to create sweet narrative moments. The only mechanic present is a drag and drop mouse click that uncovers the hidden narratives between the characters and seemingly brings them closer when the correct household item is dropped onto the right character's speech bubble.
The game uses the characters' opacity and the music's complexity progression to indicate to players that they are on the right track to bringing this family closer together.
